In 1932, Syverson Tile & Stone founder Ray G. Syverson began offering tile installation services in the SD area. By the mid 1940s, his company grew to be the largest tile contractor between Minneapolis, MN and Omaha, NE. 85 years later, Syverson Tile & Stone has evolved into one of the largest tile distributors in the region. Today, Ray’s grandsons Steve and Dave Syverson, continue the tradition of good craftsmanship and dedicated service.

The 500,000-square foot plant will be fully operational in June and will allow Wonder Porcelain LLC to introduce advanced manufacturing capabilities and proprietary production processes, not previously utilized in domestic tile production. The facility will put Lebanon, TN, on the map as an area for innovation in the tile industry. It will have the capability to produce glazed porcelain, technical color body, rectified, polished, and large format tile. All equipment in the plant reflects the latest technology.
Wonder Porcelain LLC worked with TN-based T.W. Frierson Contractor, Inc. on the construction of the plant. An additional 200,000 square foot warehouse and adjacent office complex complete the facility.
All products produced in the new plant will be certified by the Porcelain Tile Certification Agency and will be tested by the Tile Council of North America to ensure they meet or exceed defined standards in all performance categories.
Eric Astrachan, TCNA Executive Director, had this to say about the dog house program, “Each year at Coverings TCNA’s members selflessly give back to the local community through countless hours of designing and creating timeless works of art such as these doghouses. This year we are pleased to donate these incredible examples of the versatility and beauty of tile to the Pet Alliance to assist them in their mission to help Orlando-area pets. We are very happy to contribute with our members to such a worthy cause.”
In advance of the show, TCNA sent plain, wood dog houses to participants who then designed and tiled the houses with their products. The finished dog houses were unique and had styles ranging from glamorous to rustic. The Pet Alliance will auction off the dog houses at their annual fund raising event, Furball 2017.
